The Joy Set Before Christ

This Week’s Audio Message

“Let us fix our eyes on Jesus, the author and perfecter of our faith, who for the joy set before him endured the cross, scorning its shame, and sat down at the right hand of the throne of God.” – Hebrews 12:2

Our focus on the river of the water of life during the past year has led us to understand that God not only wants to eternally “quench” our thirst.  But He also wants us to become the wellsprings and streams that flow the living water, which is the power of the Holy Spirit working and witnessing through us.

As “channels” of God’s living water, our most important objective is to fulfill “the joy set before Christ”.  This joy is not for us, but is for Christ.  This joy is not about meeting our needs, but it is about living our destinies to fulfill Christ’s desire.  This joy motivated Him to endure the cross so that His Kingdom, through us, can once again be restored.  As people redeemed by His blood and being restored in our destinies, we have the privilege and responsibility to fulfill that joy set before Christ.  The water of life ultimately is to fulfill Christ’s joy.

This privilege and responsibility to fulfill Christ’s joy set the foundation for our 2012 theme: “The Joy Set Before Christ”.

Please join us this week through skype as we begin to seek the Spirit’s wisdom in fulfilling Christ’s joy.

River of the water of life——MTC 2011

When King David brought the Ark of the Covenant back to Jerusalem, the worshippers sang a song that resounded:

Give thanks to the LORD, for he is good; his love endures forever. – 1 Chronicles 16:34

Such words described the hearts of the worshippers at MTC as we drank deep of Christ’s living water.  The Lord showered us in His enduring love through music, through message, through fellowship, and most importantly, through the flow of the Holy Spirit.  This has been one of the most Spirit-filled MTCs I have personally experienced and we give thanks to the Lord for His faithfulness.

We will devote this week’s Global Prayer Connect to reflect on the Lord’s work at MTC 2011 and give thanks to him.  If you have testimonies from MTC that you would like to share, please send them to me.  I will share them in the weeks to come.

Next week, we will announce the theme for the coming year, which is based on Hebrews 12:2.  Please join us for this prayer fellowship.

Living Streams to the Deep Waters

“He said to me, ‘This water flows toward the eastern region and goes down into the Arabah, * where it enters the Sea. * When it empties into the Sea, * the water there becomes fresh.  Swarms of living creatures will live wherever the river flows. There will be large numbers of fish, because this water flows there and makes the salt water fresh; so where the river flows everything will live.’  ”– Ezekiel 47:8-9

This week, we will take a break again from our weekly live prayer connect as many of us are occupied with hosting our overseas MTC delegates.

We thank the Lord for the mighty works of elevation He did during the conference.  Many drank deeply from the streams of the water of life and were profoundly touched by the Holy Spirit.  The Lord also breathed a greater clarity into MTC’s Kingdom destiny and we stand in anticipation of the greater work He will do in the coming year.

To give you a taste of the power-filled atmosphere of MTC, I highly recommend you to listen to my message from Ezekiel 47 entitled:  Living Streams to the Deep Waters” (MP3, PPT).

We look forward to connecting up with you again live next week.
