“As for you, go your way till the end. You will rest, and then at the end of the days you will rise to receive your allotted inheritance.” – Daniel 12:13
One of the key factors that drive our decision making is our view of the future. Whether it is finances, education, relationships, or career development, we make decisions in these areas based on our belief of the future.
Daniel had one of the most vivid revelations of the future – the period of transition from the world’s kingdoms to Christ’s Millennial Kingdom. With this revelation, Daniel seemed quite anxious in wanting to understand what he must do to prepare for it. As a person of authority, Daniel wanted to know how these astounding events of political turmoil related to his kingdom responsibility. God’s messenger then gave him an incredible answer by saying, “As for you, go your way till the end. You will rest, and then at the end of the days you will rise to receive your allotted inheritance.”
God’s message to Daniel is a clear directive of Kingdom responsibility and reward. Even though many of God’s children will not live to participate in the transition period into Christ’s Millennial Kingdom, God still expects them to prepare for that Kingdom until they “rest”. God has an accounting system that transcends the ages and generations. A day will come when they rise and receive the return on their Kingdom investment (Matthew 25:11-23).
As market place Christians, this picture of the future speaks clearly of our responsibilities to steward our assets to prepare for the Master’s return. For this week, let’s intercede that God will bring forth this message through us with power and authority. Next week, we will continue with the introduction of Kingdom company leaders who are stewarding their assets to prepare for our King’s return.
