A Stream of Living Water Never Thirsts

This Week’s Audio Message

“Jesus answered, ‘Everyone who drinks this water will be thirsty again, but whoever drinks the water I give him will never thirst. Indeed, the water I give him will become in him a spring of water welling up to eternal life.’” – John 4:13-14

“On the last and greatest day of the Feast, Jesus stood and said in a loud voice, ‘If anyone is thirsty, let him come to me and drink.  Whoever believes in me, as the Scripture has said, streams of living water will flow from within him.’  By this he meant the Spirit, whom those who believed in him were later to receive. Up to that time the Spirit had not been given, since Jesus had not yet been glorified.” – John 7:37-39

Last week, I shared that Christ’s living water accomplishes only part of God’s redemptive agenda in eternally quench our “eternal thirst”.  His broader purpose lies in transforming us into wellsprings of life, streams that extends His living water to a thirsty, dying world.  We become a part of the “River of Water of Life” that flows the Holy Spirit’s “power testimonies” to the market places we touch.

To carry out the Great Commission, we must understand our roles as “living streams” that flow from the River of Water of Life.  In Matthew 28:18-20, Jesus gave us the Great Commission “call”.  But in Acts 1:8, He gave us the Great Commission “revelation” that tells us how to carry out the “call”.  Jesus reveals that:

“But you will receive power when the Holy Spirit comes on you; and you will be my witnesses in Jerusalem, and in all Judea and Samaria, and to the ends of the earth.” Acts 1:8

For many of us, the market places where we spend most of our quality waking hours are our “ends of the earth”.  God is bringing an awakening of the Acts 1:8 revelation to the market place as He establishes His Kingdom economy.  From this awakening, we believe that many will experience “power testimonies”, like Daniel in Babylon, as they come to realize their roles as streams of the Water of Life.

Our desire for MTC 2011 is to seek the Lord for a divine vision and activation of our roles as His wellsprings and streams, fulfilling the Acts 1:8 revelation.  We will intercede this week during the GPC for deeper insights of this revelation.  Please join us.

If you have experienced such “power testimonies”, please share them with me.  I may use them to encourage our network as we prepare for the November gathering.
