Let us fix our eyes on Jesus, the author and perfecter of our faith, who for the joy set before him endured the cross, scorning its shame, and sat down at the right hand of the throne of God. \u2013 Hebrews 12:2<\/em><\/span><\/p>\n

In the course of developing the MTC 2012 theme, Pastor Li-En Tai came up with an insightful framework that well encapsulates the message of \u201cThe Joy Set Before Jesus\u201d.\u00a0 The 3 components of this framework are:\u00a0 The Call, The Cross, and The City.<\/p>\n

The model that Jesus demonstrated in Hebrews 12:2 shows us that the Father gave Jesus the \u201cCall\u201d to kingdom authority \u2013 the place at the right hand of His throne.\u00a0 This authority is to be fully manifested in the \u201cCity\u201d, the New Jerusalem \u2013 the Bride and Wife of the Lamb (Revelation 21:9-10<\/a>) \u2013 the joy set before Him. \u00a0For Christ to fulfill this \u201cCall\u201d of kingdom authority in the \u201cCity\u201d, He must go through the path of the \u201cCross\u201d.<\/p>\n

In the same way, Jesus expects us to also follow our \u201cCross\u201d as the path that links our \u201cCall\u201d and our kingdom authority of the \u201cCity\u201d. \u00a0So in anticipation of MTC 2012, where the powerful worship environment brings to our hearts a keen sensitivity to the Spirit\u2019s revelation concerning our \u201cCall\u201d and \u201cCity\u201d, we have prepared six blog entries beginning from September<\/a> that delved into the wonders of the \u201cCross\u201d \u2013 the beauty in its contradictions and the wisdom in its simplicity.<\/p>\n

For many of us going through the \u201cCross\u201d in our families, the workplace, and the church, we expect MTC 2012 to be a time when God speaks into our \u201cCall\u201d and shows us a clearer picture of the \u201cCity\u201d \u2013 the joy that compels us to the road of the cross, to greater kingdom authority.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
