{"id":11,"date":"2012-04-26T17:13:28","date_gmt":"2012-04-26T22:13:28","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/gpc.168prayer.org\/?p=11"},"modified":"2012-05-24T05:13:12","modified_gmt":"2012-05-24T10:13:12","slug":"sacrifice-in-the-fathers-capacity","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/gpc.168prayer.org\/?p=11","title":{"rendered":"Sacrifice in the Father&#8217;s Capacity"},"content":{"rendered":"<p><span style=\"color: #0000ff;\"><em>By faith Abraham, when God tested him, offered Isaac as a sacrifice. \u00a0He who had received the promises was about to sacrifice his one and only son, even though God had said to him, \u201cIt is through Isaac that your offspring will be reckoned.\u201d\u00a0 Abraham reasoned that God could raise the dead, and figuratively speaking, he did receive Isaac back from death. \u2013 Hebrews 11:17-19<\/em><\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"color: #0000ff;\"><em>Jesus gave them this answer: \u201cI tell you the truth, the Son can do nothing by himself; he can do only what he sees his Father doing, because whatever the Father does the Son also does. For the Father loves the Son and shows him all he does. Yes, to your amazement he will show him even greater things than these. For just as the Father raises the dead and gives them life, even so the Son gives life to whom he is pleased to give it.\u201c \u2013 John 5:19-21<\/em><\/span><\/p>\n<p>As we spoke about <a title=\"http:\/\/villarkstrategygroup.com\/pub\/ttfh\/prayerconnect\/120419%20Prayer%20Connect%20-%20Principles%20of%20Sacrifice%20-%20Abraham%20Example.mp3\" href=\"http:\/\/villarkstrategygroup.com\/pub\/ttfh\/prayerconnect\/120419%20Prayer%20Connect%20-%20Principles%20of%20Sacrifice%20-%20Abraham%20Example.mp3\">the principles of sacrifice<\/a> last week, we saw how God uses sacrificial tests as paths to elevate us.\u00a0 These principles from Abraham\u2019s sacrifice of Isaac represent an important baseline because his example is one of the most severe tests of obedience recorded in scripture.<\/p>\n<p>We often miss the full measure of God\u2019s promotion because of our nature to avoid or resist \u201csacrifice\u201d. \u00a0We often fight against sacrifice because we tend to feel inadequate in our capacity or we fail to see the benefits in such surrendering.\u00a0 But as we look back to an early February message on the <a title=\"http:\/\/villarkstrategygroup.com\/pub\/ttfh\/prayerconnect\/120204%20Prayer%20Connect%20-%20Leading%20with%20Love%20Capacity.mp3 blocked::http:\/\/villarkstrategygroup.com\/pub\/ttfh\/prayerconnect\/120204 Prayer Connect - Leading with Love Capacity.mp3\" href=\"http:\/\/villarkstrategygroup.com\/pub\/ttfh\/prayerconnect\/120204%20Prayer%20Connect%20-%20Leading%20with%20Love%20Capacity.mp3\">\u201cFather\u2019s capacity\u201d<\/a> and connect that idea to \u201csacrifice\u201d, we begin to see a powerful chemistry, a working of the Spirit\u2019s power that can greatly expand our influence and witness to and through our families, fellowships, companies, and economies.<\/p>\n<p>In John 5, Christ has sets for us the ultimate example of tapping into the \u201cFather\u2019s capacity\u201d.\u00a0 His example shows us that feeling inadequate is a good start, for \u201cthe Son can do nothing by Himself\u201d.\u00a0 Jesus further exhorts us that in order to enter into the \u201cFather\u2019s capacity\u201d, we must see \u201cwhat the Father is doing\u201d, to follow His agenda by understanding His heart, intent, and priorities \u2013 which often times run against our agenda.\u00a0 Unlike most people, Abraham embraced his sacrificial call with the \u201cFather\u2019s capacity\u201d as he \u201creasoned that God could raise the dead\u201d.\u00a0 When Abraham understood that God\u2019s priority to build a great nation starts first with a \u201cgood seed\u201d of obedience, he entered into the \u201cFather\u2019s capacity\u201d.\u00a0 This capacity allowed Abraham to overcome the contradiction of God\u2019s sacrificial request, knowing that when he fulfills God\u2019s priority for a \u201cgood seed\u201d, God will then raise the dead to fulfill His promise.\u00a0 We, too, can enter into that realm of sacrificial blessings by following the Father and coming under His capacity.<\/p>\n<p><strong><span style=\"text-decoration: underline;\">Market Place Prayer<\/span><\/strong><\/p>\n<p>May the Lord open the eyes of the 10,500 soldiers to His Agenda and His capacity, to understand the Father\u2019s heart, intent, and priorities.\u00a0 May the Lord sustain these market place leaders as many are undergoing tests of sacrifice to expand their capacities, to elevate their influence and witness to and through their families, fellowships, companies, and economies.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>By faith Abraham, when God tested him, offered Isaac as a sacrifice. \u00a0He who had received the promises was about to sacrifice his one and only son, even though God had said to him, \u201cIt is through Isaac that your &hellip;
